James' Answers
back to 2005

Dear James, in episode 7.12 entitled "Potential" I realized that the amount of wrinkles on your face had increased by at least 5 and i was wondering if that was supposed to happen or did the make up guy foul up (if he did i bet his face is red! lol). By the way you were the bomb in los beltran. Adio brotha, rockin' site.
I have no idea. They may just have been more noticable. From what I understand they only made one mold for the "mask" and used the same one for all of my episodes. Thanks for the questions - and for watching Los Beltran. Crazy...

How was it working on Buffy? I don't just mean with Sarah and everyone, but doing a show like that, knowing that people watch that every week and you were apart of some huge thing for people all over the world? Oh, lol. Also, I wanted to tell you that you did such a great job playing Clem! You were so funny, and loveable. We even named my flobby eared rabbit after you. Lol. Just though I would let you know. You are truly a great actor.
It was awesome. Thanks for the kind words. Mmmmm...fluffy bunnies....

James, were you the guy on the Nutribar ad? The one where you feel "GREAT!" If so, you rocked.
That would be me. Thanks.

Anymore Southern Calif apperances,Conventions, plays etc., in 2005 or whats left of 2004, I just found your site and missed the play.
Maybe in 2005 in Long Beach but nothing is secure yet. Also, Furious will be doing a late night Improv show starting in late Jan early Feb...I'll keep ya posted.

Hey James. Do you have any planned cons. or appearances in England?
Yes, I am going to be in England on New Year's Eve. Check out Starfury events. It's going to be a very small con with Elizabeth Ann Allen, Clare Kramer and myself and you'll get to party with us in London on New Year's. Also I will be back in Blackpool the following September for a big Buffy Con. I may have a surprise up my sleeve for that one...He he he...

James, I recently saw your toyota commercial and thought you were great. But I've been trying to catch it again so my husband can see it but haven't had very much luck. Do you know where I can get that on the net?? Thanks again for being great!!
Try adcritic.com...other than that I am at a loss. Thanks though.

Did you use 'real" cetaphil in Stunt Cocks? the walmart rand is half the price, evn though walmart is the devil!
We did not use the devil "fake man goo"...we used the expensive as shit "fake man goo".

Hi, I love you, you are the best! I was wondering if you have an e-mail adress?
Thanks! You can send email to this address and Linda will pass it right along to me.

Did you ever think the character of Clem would be so popular?
Never in a million years. But I am certainly glad that he struck a cord with so many people.

Hey James, do you think Clem was gay or bisexual? Not that Clem was my type...I mean don't lean towards the floppy eared...well, usually....
Hey man, Clem don't judge...whatever floats your boat floats his...plus Clem would be lucky to get some action from either side :)

The Darkness is awesome, as are you! .....just so ya know!
OH YES...COME TO ME MY "DARKNESS" MINIONS...COME....

Hey James, Have you ever been to France, and if not, would you like to? Also, do you think the aliens made Bush win the election?
I have been to France. And would love to go back. For any reason. If it was the aliens...God, damn are they dumb...

James, I attended MR 2004 and wanted to purchase Stunt C*cks and you were all sold out. How can I get a copy?
You can pick up a copy of the DVD, as well as some other cool stuff just in time for the holidays at: http://www.stuntcocks-themovie.com

Would you pleeeeeeease come do karaoke at the next Moonlight Rising?
Yes

Not so much a question; I just saw your Takoma Toyota Truck commercial and it is great! You look great in it, funny and very appealing! Just wanted to send kudos!
Thanks. Glad you liked it!

What is you favorite all time band? And what is your favorite new band out there?
All time - probably Led Zepplin. Right now I really like The Darkness, Kings of Leon and the new Greenday album fu*king rules!

Do you think Scene's From The Big Picture will come East?
Probably not. We'd have to get a financier...and you know how squirrely they can be. Thanks.

Hey James! I met you a couple times (Tampa and Oakland), and I was just wondering if even though you aren't going to be appearing at the Detroit Con (YET, I still have hope!) you were still going to make a trip out to Michigan to see "The Henry Ford"?? Cuz I was the chica that told you about it in Oakland. And I think it would be fabulous if you were there on one of the days I was working this summer lol Plus, my roomie works there with me and LOVES Buffy and would be so happy if you came by lol So yes, are you still planning on making a trip to Michigan sometime this year?
Unfortunately, pretty much the only way I'll be able to get to Michigan this year would be to attend Motor City Buffy. If you guys (ie - my loyal and loving fans) can get me added back to the bill then I'll be there with bells on...yes, I will actually wear bells.

So you're jjust walking along and ALL OF A SUDDEN a bear comes out of nowhere and starts charging at you with a torpedo, all you have with you a piece of yellow string and a jelly bean what do you do? I sure hope no one asked you this already because I couldn't remember which one I was supposed to ask you. Be creative.
I tie the yellow string to the jelly bean and begin to whirl it about my mighty head with great speed. As the bear gets closer I release the string at exactly the right moment and it hurtles toward the bear at about 130 feet per second carrying quite a lot of kinetic energy with it. The bear, having poor eyesight, does not see the jelly bean, but it can smell it. As the bean reaches the bear it drops the torpedo and catches the bean in it's mouth. The torpedo hits the grounds at just the right angle, it's delicate nose hitting a rock, and explodes blowing the bear into a million tiny pieces.

I have a very simple question for you, James. You're trapped inside a man-eating plant. The only thing you have with you is an orange pen with no ink, and a tootsie roll wrapper. How do you get out?
Trick question. Everyone knows that there is no such things as orange pens.

Why hello there This is Chrissy I don't know if you remember me from the Oakland Convention I was the girl who cried when I met you...umm well I was wondering if you would marry me? Heehee ^_^ plus the Darkness ROCK AND SO DO YOU! Oh yeah I want to thank you for humoring me in Oakland!
Sorry Chrissy I am already taken. Had I only known you 12 years ago - wait you were like 3 then...Never mind. I am a very very happily married man. Yes the Darkness does rock and so do I. Hope you had a good time in Oakland.

Is it true that Julie Caitlin Brown will no longer be representing you at conventions?
After careful consideration I have decided to end my business relationship with Julie Caitlin Brown. The split was amicable and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors. I will keep my fans posted via this website of my upcomming events. As always thanks for the support and hope to see you soon.

I understand you landed a commercial, how did that go?
It was awesome. I had a blast. Keep your eyes open for it sometime in October - and go buy a Toyota Tacoma!

If the Angel people ask you to appear on one of the Angel TV movies, would you do it?
Hmmmm....Hell yes I would! I think it would be a blast to be in one of the Angel TV movies if they ever happen.

Hi. I was just at the oakland convention with 6 of my friends. We met you and I had you draw your cute little clem smily face on my shoe. We also talked with you for a little bit. I was just wondering if you remember me and my friends. P.S. Your awsome!
Of coarse I remember! No...You guys are awesome! Hope you had a great time. See ya soon.

Needing info on your upcoming play that you mentioned in Oakland.
Rehearsals have just started for "Scene's From The Big Picture" by Owen McCafferty - set to have its US premiere on Oct. 22nd with the Furious Theatre Company at The Pasadena Playhouse Balcony Space. Check out www.furioustheatre.org for more details. Come check it out. It will rock.

Two questions: 1. Does playing "kitten poker" automatically make one a cat person (hence, the kittens) or a dog person (since you'll ultimately eat your winnings)?
2. Word on the street is that you're coming to visit us in Detroit for the Motor City Buffy/Angel convention in June 2005 -- fact or fiction? (By the way, we're hoping it's a fact).

1. I personally am a dog person. Plus, my wife is allergic to cats. 2. I think so.

Do you think "Chinese Democracy" will ever really be released?
I doubt it. Besides, would you really want to listen to it if it was. Songs written by a guy named "Bucket Head" don't really interest me anymore. I'm way more into Velvet Revolver.

It isn't quite clear from your website..do you believe in a thing called love???
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart.

James, Mr. Leary, do you consider yourself famous?
Not at all. And Mr. Leary is my fathers name :)

Are you going to be at DragonCon this year?
I doubt it. They don't usually bring back the same guests two years in a row. But thanks for asking. I might be in Atlanta for a con in the fall but not sure yet.

The Darkness???!!! What the hell is wrong with you? Yeah, I know..that's two questions, but they both need to be answered.
They Rock...oh yeah and...THEY ROCK!!! What's wrong with you?

I just want to know what the heck is your favorite kind of beer!!!!??
Shiner Bock and Guiness

So, the Nutrigrain ad is GREAT! How'd you get it, when'd you film it, when will it be shown, etc., etc., etc.??
I went on an audition for the spot and the director liked my "70's Porn Guy" bit so I got the gig. We shot it last Feb. in this old Hearst newspaper building downtown. As far as I know that website is the only place you can see it.

What's your favorite actor, actress, book, band, movie?
Right now my favorite actor is a toss up between Will Farrell and Jack Black, Book - again right now I love the whole Harry Potter series. Awesome. Band - this is tough - Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Tool, Audioslave, etc. Movie - Star Wars/Raiders of The Lost Ark.

What actors and comedians have inspired and influenced you in your own performances?
Robin Williams - in high school I memorized all of "Live at the Met" and drove all my friends crazy. Jim Carrey, Will Farrell, Jack Black, Harrison Ford, Ed Norton, Dirk Benedict, Al Pacino (Pre "Scent Of A Woman") this list really coudl go on and on and on and on and on and on and on......

How did you get so pretty? Did your parents know you were so pretty when you were little? Do you not eat greasy foods to keep your skin so nice. I like you a lot.
Hey baby slow your roll....pretty is as pretty does. Thank you for the great compliment. Where were you when I was in high school and couldn't get a date.

What's your favorite beer???
SHINER BOCK - brewed in Spoetzel Texas from an old bavarian receipe brought to Texas by one Cosmo Spoetzel. To dispell comon misconception Lone Star is not the national beer of Texas. It's Shiner Bock.

James, What were some of your favorite things about living in Chicago and maybe some of your least favorite things...
Most favorite, the people and the food. It's a big city with a midwest feel. I loved it. The theatre was awesome. Second City, Improv Olympic, Steppenwolf, etc. I couldn't handle the weather. Too cold for my Texas blood.

Did you start acting out of a deep desire of always wanting to act from a young age, or did you just sort of drift into it in high school because it looked "fun." In other words, how/when did you start acting and why?
I knew I wanted to be an actor from the age of 5 when I saw STAR WARS for the first time. I didn't know what it was called but I knew I wanted to be on that screen. My first play was an 8th monolouge show when I was 13 and from then on I was hooked.

What talent do you wish you had?
I wish I could sing.

You can't go 24 hours without…
Sweet sweet morphine....just kidding...Seeing my son.

Where is somewhere you'd love to travel if you had the time to really explore?
Ireland and Germany.

>What turns you on?
Wouldn't you like to know.

What turns you off?
Being asked what turns me on...wink wink...

What profession other than yours would you like to pursue?
Nazi Hunter

What profession would you hate?
Nazi

In the end credits of "Stunt C*cks", it shows Mike Meredith as "the guy who wasn't in the film", or something along those lines. What's the story behind that? Did you have to cut something?
Yeah we had to cut Mike's scene for time and it just wasn't working in the cut of the movie we had at the time.

You seem so confident and excited about the acting process. Do you ever get stage fright?
I wouldn 't call it stage fright but I do get nervous. But it's that good kind of exciting nervous. Auditioning is harder than actually performing. I hate the audition process especially here in Hollywood.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Hopefully coming off of a good 8 year run on a Sit-Com or Drama and living very comfortably.

Can you remember your first line ever?
No.

What has acting afforded you in your life, and I don't mean financially.
The opportunity of affect people(hopefully). To take them away from their lives even if it is only for a few minutes.

Is there anything that you do in your life off the screen that would surprise us?
Yes but the court said I can't tell you.

What is your favorite to play, comedy, drama, the evil villain?
Yes.

Was there something you wish they had done with Clem on Buffy that there just wasn't time to explore?
Buffy and Clem's growing lust for one another.

Why do birds, suddenly appear, everytime you are near?
'Cause I am one bad Mother F*cker!!
