Hey Everybody - how the heck are ya four months into aught 5? All is well in LA LA Land.

Well kids I've got good news and bad news. Good news - My wife and I will be moving into our first house - yes I know...now I finally have to grow up. But that being said the bad news is - we move in the same weekend as Jacks Or Better. I regretfully will not be able to make it to Vegas for the show. I am very sorry and hope to make it up to everyone in other ways. Unfortunately our escrow period fell right on that weekend. Stupid escrow period! But really, just consider yourselves lucky - now you won't feel the full frontal no limit wrath that is James "The Shark" Leary.

Again, I am very sorry everyone. If anyone wants to set up a game for Moonlight Rising - I'm all in...get it...All In...see...joke...ah forget it....

Happy Holidays everybody!! Hope you all had a good turkey day and are looking forward to ChaunaChristmaKwanza time like I am. So that being said...

Anybody out there interested in a free iPod? Well just go and check out www.freeipod.com - basically you sign up, apply for a 2 week trial of one of their partners (like Blockbuster's new mail DVD rental - you know like net flix only cheaper) and get five of your friends to join and apply as well and you get A FREE IPOD!!! Crazy I know - but kind of cool. And now that's said...

Click here when you want to sign up and you can help yours truly get his X-Mas wish! http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=jamesleary@sbcglobal.net Seriously, check out the site, a friend of mine turned me on to it and it seems pretty cool and legit (his brother works for Apple and told him about it.)

As for appearances it looks like I'm going to be in England for New Year's Eve, Australia the end of January - www.thehubproductions.com, Houston Vulkon in April, Jacks or Better... Vegas Poker Tournament in April also, The Slayer Cruise in June, LA in July, Moonlight Rising in August, and back in Blackpool England in September. Hope to see all you guys at somepoing in the next year.

Thanks again for all the support and keep the great questions coming.

Hey Everybody,

Well, opening weekend was a success! The largest opening Furious Theatre has ever had. Now we need your help to keep it going!! And to make it more enticing - I can now offer TWO FOR ONE TICKETS! (with a minimum purchase of two tickets).

Here are the details:

SCENES FROM THE BIG PICTURE
Thur.-Sat. 8pm, Sun. 7:30pm
Pasadena Playhouse Balcony Theatre
39 S. El Molino Ave.
626-356-PLAY (mention SCENES2FOR when calling box office for special tickets).

Here's what Backstage West had to say:

"...Under Dámaso Rodriguez's fine direction, the company has substantially added to its ranks to mount a completely respectable production of Owen McCafferty's careful but often surprising drama. Here, the 21-member ensemble does fantastic work creating snapshots of working-class life in present-day Belfast. Rodriguez keeps the sprawling production focused and evenly weighted, countering the almost leisurely pace that the material demands with quick, jarring transitions, aided by the effective sound design of Eric Pargac and Vonessa Martin. The skilled actors are at the top of their game..."

Again, hope to see everyone this weekend.

Thanks, James

Hey Everybody, I wanted to let everyone know about an amazing play that I am doing, opening on October 22nd.

FURIOUS THEATRE COMPANY in residence at THE PASADENA PLAYHOUSE BALCONY THEATRE

PRESENTS THE U.S. PREMIERE OF -

"SCENES FROM THE BIG PICTURE" by Owen McCafferty

October 22nd - November 21, 2004 (preview October 19-21)
thursday - saturday 8PM, Sunday 7:30PM (preview 7:30PM)

Preview $12 Thursday $15 Friday - Sunday $24
Call 626-356-PLAY for Tickets
or go to www.furioustheatre.org
(industry comps available - please contact me via this site for information)

The show ran to rave reviews last year at The National Theatre of London and this will be it's US Premiere:

  • "McCafferty is a writer of depth and subtlety, as well as palpable humanity, and constantly confounds the audience's expectations..." - Daily Telegraph
  • "His is a quietly dramatic magic: no tricks, just human nature revealed with infinite humanity. Not to be missed." - Daily Mail
  • "Scenes from the Big Picture is a superb piece of work..." - BBC News

The play really is something spectacular and if you haven't seen a show at Furious you're missing out (check them out at www.furioustheatre.org).

Hope to see everyone there.

Thanks

James

First of all a big thanks to all of you who were with us this weekend at Moonlight Rising. I know I enjoyed my champagne glass shapped bathtub - did you? I hope you had a great time and it was a good weekend. Thanks for being so supportive of all the events (Stunt C*cks, The Improv, The Charity Auction - I think we raised over $5000 for the children) and making me feel welcomed.

I'll be at Vulkon's Buffy show in Tampa June 18-20th so hope to see some familiar faces there. George Hertzberg, Mark Lutz and I are working on something fun for you.

Also, the link to the Nutrigrain spot has been changed, so if you still want to see it go to www.kontraband.com and type in "I Feel Great" in the search bar - that will bring the spot up. And don't forget to go to www.atomfilms.com and watch Stunt C*cks again and again - with your help we can get back into the top five!!

Last but not least I want to plug some cool ass sunglasses at www.utopiaoptics.com. If ya' saw me sporting some groovy shades - that's where I got'em!!

Remember ...

I believe in a thing called love. Just listen to the rhythm of my heart. There's a chance we can make it now. We'll be rockin' till the sun goes down. I believe in a thing called looouuuuvvvve....GUITAR!!!
